BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANCY

We’re seeking a part-time Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our consultancy arm. You’ll play a pivotal role in positioning Cove Bay as a trusted advisor to clients seeking clarity, creativity, and commercial direction in their development ambitions. This role is ideal for someone who combines commercial acumen with a deep understanding of the development lifecycle — and who is motivated by the opportunity to shape how land and investment turn into thriving, future-proof Caribbean destinations.

You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, creating and executing strategic business plans, and representing the company at industry events. The role requires regularly collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with company goals and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Source and convert new consultancy leads across the Caribbean and related markets

  • Build relationships with landowners, developers, and tourism-linked entities

  • Collaborate on proposals, investment decks, and bid submissions

  • Represent Cove Bay at trade shows and industry events (e.g. WTM London)

  • Align client needs with our internal expertise in design, planning, and delivery strategy

Experience

  • 5+ years in business development, real estate, hospitality, or planning consultancy

  • Proven ability to originate and convert client relationships

  • A strong network or ability to grow one quickly in relevant sectors

  • Confidence working with senior decision-makers and project stakeholders

  • An interest in architecture, placemaking, and sustainable tourism-led development

Qualifications

  • Experience with Business Development, Client Relationship Management, and Sales

  • Strategic Planning, Market Analysis, and Business Strategy skills

  • Excellent Communication, Negotiation, and Presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and remotely, strong self-motivation and time management

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience in real estate development or hospitality industry is an advantage

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
